recently, i've become a bit addicted to this website. as a result, a very much want to make this:

so tomorrow, i start by teaching block with a bunch of grade elevens and twelves. i'm unreasonably excited about this, and that has a lot to do with this video that a found to show them:

so most christmases, i try to find creative things to make for my friends, since i'm pecuniarily challenged. this year, i may be stumped and forced to turn to the internet for ideas. any suggestions for good homemade gifts?

so this year, i actually have two halloween costumes. one for spirit week at my practicum school: it's "fame day."


and then, a second costume for a rad party on saturday.


tonight, i plan to put these costumes together. exciting!

i never post anymore. i wonder if i've outgrown it. i've been reading over all my old entries and laughing at the old michelle. that's the value of a blog/journal, to show yourself how far you've come and learn to laugh at yourself.

i saw this while waiting for the bus last friday on my way home from hot yoga and wrote a poem in my head about it. that's something i don't do enough anymore. here goes:

tracing rhythmic circles with her body,
she exhales smoke from fiery lungs:
waiting for the 16 to take her home.

I have just discovered a product that has changed the way I look at my period. It's called the Diva Cup, and I would 100% recommend it to every woman I know. i love it when businesses make embarrassing grammar or spelling errors.

so i started looking at some comics that jocelyn recommended on her lj. then i came across this one, which is something my past self can totally relate to. http://www.xkcd.com/77/

mel told me about her obsession with wikihow, (like wikipedia, but with instructions on how to accomplish tasks) so i decided to google it. right away, this popped up. it is hilarious, fantastic and uncomfortable all rolled into one.

a sign that spring has come again to winnipeg:

it's always cute when lonely old people you don't know start talking to you out of nowhere and share their pearls of wisdom.

it's less cute in the women's showers at the gym.

hehe, however, this lady told me i'd probably live until i'm a hundred. i wish oracles really did exist. i get all these romantic notions about things like that from time to time.

not much to report. seems like everyone is going away on trip and doing exciting things while i sit around and work towards my career. i shouldn't complain but it's depressing sometimes. i think i have a case of the travel bug at the moment.


i'm reading too much about communism for my critical theory class. it's putting revolutionary ideas into my head.

so as of this friday i'm hopping on a plane and heading for toronto with chris. i am unreasonably happy about this.

here's to many more weekends of extremely out-of-focus fun.

so one of my summer resolutions is to do something about my cd collection. this involves getting rid of all the shitty cds i bought grades 6-10 and gradually buying new and better cds. so far i've sold or gotten rid of nearly all of the old cds, and i've bought neutral milk hotel and cat power's the greatest. this song makes my chest ache.

please suggest albums you think i should own.
